Keeps eating his tree!!

Jack has a ficus and a hibiscus in his cage and he keeps eating the hibiscus. To my surprise it was dying out side so with nothing to lose I planted it in his cage. Overnight it started doing better but dropped a lot of leaves for a week and now it is flourishing. I thought about bitter apple but even if it is safe it would get washed off. Just wondering if I put some other greens for him to eat if he would leave it alone? On a side note my hibiscus is flourishing and started to bloom but all my pathos died. (Just seems backwards to me)

They seem to love hibiscus, and most would say it's not bad to eat. But the will eat other greens. The fact that he's eating it is telling you that there's most likely something missing in his diet.

Well he has gotten bigger so I thought maybe he was not getting enough food so I upped his crickets and now he always has a few left over. This has slowed is leaf eating allot but every so often I see a leaf with three bites out of it. He may eat a whole small leaf but the big ones he just takes two to three bites out of them.

I'm guessing you have a veild??? They will eat almost any plant to place in their cage. No matter how much food or what types of food i fed my vields, they always found it appealing to eat their plants...try feeding some different leafy greens from the supermarket....like dandelion greens or romaine.
