Kung-fu Parson

I think many misunderstood the case where sources have claimed that Asia is one of the biggest illegal animals trading zones in the world. I also believe some part of it.

But I have been in the hobby for almost 12 years now, and I feel is changing. As more and more people are getting into the hobby, they tend to realize (learn) what they should do for the animals' sake. We now have "Hong Kong Society of Herpetology Foundation - www.hkherp.org" which is a registered association to support and help people who are in the hobby.

And in the past 5-6 years, there are a few professional breeders in HKG starting out their company. 2-3 are internationally-known. And I can count at least more then 23 local breeders who has been running their own program since 2008.

In the local market, Panthers and Vieled, Ball Pythons, Leopard Geckoes, Fat-tails, Knob-tails, are mostly CBB from local breeders.

But we also have 2 major problems in Hong Kong reptile scene if we look at the big circle;
1./ Most of the animals in the market are cross-breeds. And we just don't have enough new animals importing into creating/ maintaining a large gene pool for breeding. Imagine there is now over 500 people who had a group of Leopard Geckoes at their home, which they are all the daughters and sons from the 10 pairs of leopard geckoes that was imported back into HKG in the mid 90's.....
2./ No success in breeding tortoise -> people buy from "underground", loads and loads of tortoise comes in every week, and ends up.....
The tortoise that are sold in HKG, probably 60% of them are without papers, 10% are illegal for trade anywhere in the world and 30% are with proper importation documents and local license.

So it will just take time, but overall the environment and the atmosphere of the Reptile circle is developing. In my personal opinion, as people get more educated (in regards to animals right, etc..) reptile owners learns that it is not a business to run, instead it is a hobby.

Itz the polyfoam they use in flower decoration, and I just follow a few steps as in a youtube video, then I painted it using enamel paint. Dried it off completely and put under the sun for a week. Then it will be ready to use.

I just follow what he did;
