I'm new to this website so here goes. Noticed tonight. They are on the side of his foot. He also has 2 knots/bumps on his tail. He has been seen by a vet twice, but not for these. His original problem (last August) was a swollen casque and cheeks. Vet tried to drain casque, but nothing would come out, was soft tissue. Second vet said it was respiratory. Anyway, tonight I am concerned about the new finding of the bumps on the side of his front foot. Did a cricket bite him perhaps? Thank you for any input.

The third pic, the one of your chameleon's head is very troubling to me. His casque is EXTREMELY swollen and his eyes make him appear to be dehydrated. I searched this site and elsewhere to find the cause of these two symptoms...I know you are most concerned about the bumps on his feet (and tail). I will look into that as well but I remember other members posting about these types of bumps which were lanced by a vet and found to be filled with calcium powder. Here's what I found out about the swollen casque. It was written by a reptile expert & biologist.
"There are two common causes of such swelling. The most common is Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD)........MBD causes a very slow and painful death.
The next most common cause of this swelling is infection. A frequent cause of infection is crickets biting a sleeping lizard. The bite wounds are too tiny to see, but they are very prone to infection. Such infection will only spread if it's left untreated. Other sources of infection are equally dangerous. Unless you have reason to believe that MBD is the problem (weakness, swollen limbs, difficulty moving, twitching), the best thing to do is schedule an appointment with a reptile vet. "
I strongly recommend trying to find a reptile vet with exotic/chameleon experience/expertise in your geographical area ASAP. In the meantime, please fill out the "Ask for Help" form so other can chime in and maybe point you in the direction of an excellent vet.

The bumps may be caused by gout, but there are other symptoms that could point to gout as well. Please provide us with more info using the link above so that we may be able to pinpoint or rule out possible causes and help arm you with more information to take with you when you see the vet and as you care for your chameleon.
Thank you all for your information. Yes, I do have a UVB light and will change the bulb today. I knew about the 6 months longevity. I suspect it is MBD as his legs are thickened and one vet said he had the beginnings of MBD. Unfortunately for the longest time, he would not eat the mealworms if they had calcium dust on them. Lately, he has been eating the ones SPRAYED with calcium supplement. Any suggestions on if MBD is reversible? He also has a mesh sunning cage and I try to place him outside frequently. Casque - One vet talked to a herpetologist in Minnesota (I'm in Oklahoma), a friend of his, who said it was fat stores. Not in my opinion in this case. Would make sense if it was MBD. I feel terrible. Hoping it is reversible as I've heard it is in Iguanas. The 2 experienced reptile vets in my town have already seen him, unfortunately. Their diagnoses have not helped and do not coincide. Thank you so much for your help.
