Late night eating

it is 10 pm here and Grimm, my Jackson's, just ate a cricket, and recently I was told eating late at night is bad for humans, is it ok for Chameleons? (IDC if late night eating is bad for my health, I will eat when I damn feel like it)

Pretty similar to humans. Daylight = active, night = sleep. Mine lay down and close their eyes about half an hour before their lights go off. Since they are getting ready for bed, their digestive system slows, and eating isn't the best idea. But if hes eating, well, hes eating. I just wouldn't make it regular to feed em late.

oh, thank you, I will remember to take the crickets out at night

i occationally will offer them food if i see them up, but have wondered.....

remember the movie gremlins..i guess its ok as long as its not past 12???

but truthfully..they would be asleep in the wild..:D

2 reasons really -crickets can bite, and make general nuisance of themselves.
Also, as Basilisk09 said, it's more difficult to digest. We do a bad enough job of replicating the wild, so we don't need undigested food going bad inside the Cham too. (Don't worry though, very small risk - just a cricket or 2 towards the end of the day is no problem at all).
What times are your lights set for?

I would avoid late night feeding.

As David Buchan says, insects in the cage at night can cause a nuisance to your cham as crix are awake at night while your cham is asleep. They can bite your cham and stress them out.

Also, they need the heat from basking to digest their food.

As previously mentioned, no harm in the odd one they happen to gobble up later if you've not taken it out, but like I say, best stick to morning/afternoon feeds as it gives your cham time to digest them properly ;)
