Laying Bin Questions

You know. Having just gone trough this whole thing myself for the first time there's one thing I learned: Take her to a vet to see how far along she is. You'll be guessing the whole time and it could be weeks to months. Unless she looks like she's ready to blow (and you have a lot of experience) right now, as in fat with lumps in her tummy you got a ways to go. She'll pace forever, up and down, and then one day, morning, noon or night she just does it. As long as the "bucket" is 8 inches deep or more as described in the links with video I gave you earlier it should be fine.

You obviously need more dirt/soil and a deeper container if you could swing it. Her looking at the dirt doesn't mean much, her digging in it does. Also, do your a favor and look up what a "gravid" female looks like. Typically mustard yellow and robin blues start to appear.

Ok so my 8-9 month old girl from petsmart is laying her presumably 1st batch of eggs and I'm secretly hoping they're fertile....cuz I mean petsmart is stupid right? Maybe they put them together...lets hope yayyyyyy

how is that haha?
Because so many people told you that this is exactly what they would say, when you were doing all your "research", and swearing up and down that you had the monetary support of your parents, and were busy basically slapping the experts in the face.

Good luck. I'd leave her be. Stop staring at her and checking on her constantly if shes needing to lay.

It sounds like you are spending a lot of time fussing about around the cage and staring at your chameleon! I would advise against it! Your movements, fussing around as staring at her could be enough to deter her from laying her eggs, getting egg bound and die! I give my ladies space and privacy during this time!

BINGO!!!

First you said it was 5 months now its 8-9. My cham when I first got her I brought her to the vet just because its a new animal and wanted to make sure all was well and do fecal test, the vet said my girl was at best 6 months, compared to yours yours is half the size and minus the patterns and colorations. Unless you brought it to a vet idk where you keep pulling magical ages from..also ditto on leave her alone, drape a sheet around bottom of tank if need be to give her privacy.

I saw a picture of a 7 month old who was smaller. Also here's the pic. How do o tell if she laid overnight?

That's the best I have for ya right now.

From the blurry picture she doesn't look very full of eggs. If she has them at all... why would you want them to be fertile anyway? Do you have enough room to raise 30 or so babies? And enough for food for them? Every day?
