Current Problem - my male Reptar has been really lazy. He only goes from his bed to his basking spot. He used to roam all over his cage. Now he's acting like an old man. Not sure why he's being so lazy! We've been trying to breed him with my female and he seems interested and head bobs but gives up on the chase too quick. He gives up and goes back to basking. Any suggestions? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1363319113.695043.jpg

Maybe he prefers men? lol.... Sorry, I'm just being cheeky! I have no suggestions but will say your girl is very, very pretty!! :D

From the females colour she does look receptive, is she hissing or anything to him? If not just leave her in there for a while but keep a watchful eye, he should start chaseing

:D Hello. I am no expert but usually some real sunny cures the blahs. Have you had a chance to take him outside in the sunshine? Maybe that would frisk him up some? Just an idea.;)

This is what I was going to advise... Maybe its just a little winter blues.

The female is receptive. No hissing. She wasn't receptive a few weeks ago when we tried so I can tell the difference. She's even tried climbing on top of him lol.

He does head bob so I'm thinking he's still into her.

It's been pretty cloudy here the past couple days but next time there is a good day I will bring him in the sun. It has been awhile.

He's been acting pretty lazy for a few weeks. Probably because of winter and the cold.

How long will girls stay receptive? I really don't want to wait till the next round.

careful how long u wait with them in the same cage, or even just next to each other where he can see her. if they get used to a female they will get lazy. try showing him his reflection, ( assuming u dont have another male) he will think there's competition and go after her. read that in me book ;)
