Looks like a pretty advanced case of MBD judging from the pictures.... Her bones are bowing in the legs. right front leg looks normal. Left front does not. and both back legs are not.
wait what? what do i do? will it kill her??

@kinyonga Am I seeing mbd in this babies legs? front left leg and both back legs look to be bowing and abnormal. This is the same one that was on the ground.

Can you help the OP. This is outside my area of knowledge for treatment.

Breathe hun... It is not a good thing for a female. Because they lay eggs... I have tagged in @kinyonga to assist. But she will need a Vet with Reptile/chameleon experience.

Mbd develops when there is a lack of D3 conversion in the body. This is has to do with the UVB lighting and correct supplementation.

It is not a death sentence with treatment but they do have a harder life. On facebook there is a a lady that has a female with MBD that she has gotten to a healthy place... Here is the link to that page https://www.facebook.com/sweetpeath...9RqHT3_Lm4kj0KaniDGAq0YW7Eme7GnhBAFId2eLMajmT

This will change how you want to have your cage for her..... She will not be able to use her legs to climb properly.... She will learn with treatment as she gets stronger but right now the legs are weak. This is why she has been on the ground.

It definitely looks like MBD. It needs to be corrected ASAP. The bent legs will stay like that likely unfortunately. When did you notice the legs and how long did you own her when it happened?

You need to go over your husbandry and she needs liquid calcium and all the husbandry corrected to correct the bone strength. You'll also likely want to slow down or stop her reproduction in the future. It will be harder in her than a chameleon that doesn't have MBD.

Please answer the questions in this thread....

MBD occurs when there is a lack of calcium in the bones. There are several causes for that.

You should go to a vet to get the right calcium and give you advice on correcting it.

Here's a good article that should help you to understand it all...

"Correcting your husbandry and providing adequate calcium, nutrition through gutloading, and UVB is the first critical step. However, the deficit of calcium needs to be addressed with additional supplementation before the body can function normally and begin to heal. A small drop of liquid calcium (without D3) can be given twice daily for a month to replace the calcium deficit. A vet may have to give injectable calcium to replace the deficit in more than mild cases. UVB, especially in the form of unfiltered sunlight, is essential. Force feeding may be required to nurse a weak, very ill chameleon back to health. If there are broken bones already unfortunately they will need time to heal on their own because if a cast or splint is applied it can actually cause more breaks to occur since the bones are so weak. A hospital cage that is shorter with wider perches and a towel on the bottom to cushion falls should be provided to prevent further injury. It is very important to address MBD as soon as symptoms are noticed to stop the damage being done. Sometimes symptoms are so severe that chameleons will not survive, despite aggressive treatment, due to permanent organ damage. But some chameleons can make truly remarkable recoveries from severe MBD with a lot of intensive care."

well. you were all right and it was all my fault. i got the uvb light and stuff. she’s back home now with the calcium and adjusting. and we got better lighting. so yeah.

She was on a recent Chameleon Academy Podcast and had a lot of information on how she recouperated her and adjusted her setup to properly care for her MDB cham.
