Leo is 5 years old!

It's nice to see that Leo is still doing well.

He's a very handsome boy and looks like a real sweetheart.

Yellow, then green, then tan. Someone isn't very decisive in their decisions. He needs a woman to make all the decisions for him. :D

What a beautiful boy. Congrats on 5 years. Can I ask if you have had any problems with him, medically? there is so many problems listed on here it would be nice to know if anyone has been able to have a chameleon with no issues.

Haha, yes, I do like how his colors change so much. I haven't seen him sport the turquoise in quite a while though. Actually I have a pic of him when he was purple as well! Not sure what that was about, I think he was stressed.

I haven't had any major issues with him. The winter time is usually when I worry about him the most. I think it was two winters ago, he didn't eat for a couple of months. I took him to the vet and he had sores on his feet which the vet called "bumble foot." I treated it with antibiotic ointment and he recovered fully. So far this winter he is still eating, although it usually takes a nice white dubia to entice him to eat. His tongue doesn't work so well any more so I hand feed him. I just got him the Arcadia quad and I hope the new improved lighting will keep him happy all winter long.

Thanks for the reply. I will be getting the quad myself for my new boy if he hatches. Those are the only lights I use. Those are on backorder right now. Its nice to hear that a chameleon can be healthy for many years. I'm getting very worried about all the medical issues.

Wow Leo, you're looking good!!!! Just keep it up, you provide encouragement for those of us with "elders"!
My veiled Stanley will be 5 in March, I hope to keep him healthy and happy for as long as possible!

Yay Stuart I am so glad Leo is alive and well! For many of you who don't know, Leo was Romeo's brother. He outlived his brother by 2 yrs so far. I hope you can have many more years together and his quality of life can continue. Happy Birthday to Leo!

Hi Carol! Merry Christmas! Thanks for the birthday wishes for Leo! It's too bad neither of our panthers were able to pass on their genes!

What about Boomer, are you going to breed him? If you are put me on the waiting list for a Boomer baby! :)

Leo is now 6 years old! How old is that in chameleon years? 80? 90?

Sambavas, one of my favorite chams ever! I love the way their colors change throughout their life. I never had one with red rain though, your guy must have read the news and is keeping up with the times! That is a handsome dude!
To check the age of horses you look at how worn their teeth are, with panthers you check how worn their rostral process is.

Happy Birthday to Leo!! I am so glad he is doing well! He looks beautiful and amazing how their colors evolve! I hope you have many more year with him Stuart!!
