Hello everyone!

I’m a super newbie chameleon owner. Have done a lot of research, but still have a lot to learn and your help would be much appreciated. Have a few things in my husbandry I’m trying to work out. Maybe you can help me w this issue.
I Figured I’d hop on bc this is the second day my chameleon, mezcal, has been chilling on a branch where he usually sleeps, tail curled up, about 2 hours before he is suppose to have lights off. One eye tends to be closed. This is only the second time in two days he did this. Has been a bit slower than the first couple of weeks I’ve had him.

What's the basking area temperature?

I have a female who will sometimes do this. She will get ready for bed a few hours before her lights turn off.

However, if your chameleon is doing this during the daytime while basking, get it checked out by a vet ASAP. I lost my first chameleon from a respiratory infection. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the vet in time and he died after receiving an antibiotic shot. I can't stress seeing a vet enough. It's better to be safe than sorry. Don't wait until it's too late.

This is this morning after he ate a big breakfast. Two crickets, two Dubai’s, and like 6 or 7 super worms. They were gutloaded w bell peppers and dusted w calcium no d3 reptivite. He only tends to show he really exotic colors if I’m handling him or something when I’m observing.

What's the basking area temperature?

Posted them down below! Thanks and the basking is around 79 to 80 on the temp gun but when I put my hand there it’s quite hot.
