I searched on the net and found anything from 2-10 yrs, though the consensus seemed to be 3-5.

Soory Travis of your loss,
Each time there is an announcment of a Chameleon death, it's a very sad day and very Chameleon owner can relate to the loss and grief that you must be feeling.

in all honesty wouldn't suprise me if you could push it to about 7 years. but thats with perfect conditions.

4 1/2 doesn't seem like a bad amount of time, its unfortunate and maybe if he had gotton some treatment you could have gotten some more time out of him.

but perhaps it was just his time to go.

i feel your lose, jacksons are a great chameleon.

feeling extreme sorry for u dude!
i am new with chameleon!! hope you can get over it soon...and get a new babe!! hahahahah:)

Probably could be extended closer to 8-10 if conditions were right. That means cool, bordering on cold nights, lower daytime temps, etc. They can live in warm climates, but I'm sure it shortens their lifespan considerably.

Very sorry for your loss. They are one of my favorite species.

I've also heard various numbers for the lifespan of Jacksonii. I bet it's one of those things where 3-5 is average, but every now and then one lives to be 9 or 10.
