I was just spraying my chameleons cage, like I do a few times a day.. and one of my lightbulbs EXPLODED. It was a LOUD pop, and some smoke, and some dust that fell into her cage.
you probably accidentally sprayed the bulb as well.
Normally, you would want to avoid getting water on bulb.
Clean the cage well. Those sharp glasses and dust are quite toxic for anybody including your chameleon. and Avoid misting nearby the bulb.
It's just weird considering I've had her since September and it's never happened to me yet. It's a sign that I have to buy that fixture for my tube light. Haha.
Was it a tube or a spotlight bulb? With a tube it shouldn't happen really unless water managed to get into the connections, but with a spot light, as said, cold water plus hot light = bad times!
