Two questions...

1 - Can you put any sticks from outside in your chameleon habitat?

2 - How do i properly drain my habitat? I found this and was woundering if it would be ok.

1) as long u disinfect that outside stick then its a go.
2)There are lots different way to drain the excessive water,you can even use a draining tray that installing right on the bottom of ur cage,in ur case ,u dont want to make it too complicated since u told us that u have ur own spending limit,and also depending on ur misting method that u are installing in ur cage,what ever u decide im sure will be a good option,if not,u can always make improvements later.

Well im probably gonna try and get the mistking starter kit if i can and if i cant then the monsoon one.
How would i disinfect a stick?

Wash the outdoor branch or stick with diluted bleach water mix ,dry n repeat if u want to be sure
Some people use the baking high temp in the oven method,it depending on the size of ur out door branch sticks vs the width n depth of ur oven.

And also what should i have on the bottom of my cage if anything

Personally I like to have bare floor for the easy access reason due to I have way too many chams n other pets in my house,but I see some other members have successful story keeping various stuff on their bottom cage ,I will leave that choice for u to decide.

I use sticks from outside and didn't bother baking or washing them. They were trimmings off of a tree in my parents' yard. Just be careful that ones you get aren't rotting or falling apart.

For the bottom of your cage, it can sometimes depend on your draining system, but likely for your set up you want just a bare bottom so the water drains away easily.

I say go for it. It looks like a fine idea. If it turns out you need to tweak it, then you can go from there.

Its screen but its not metal and it comes in a roll and you can manipulate it unlike metal where it stays flat.
