hey guys what is your opinion on using a 100W PowerSun UV lightbulb instead of a seperate heating bulb and tube UVB light? Its supposed to be a "high intensity source of UVB, UVA, heat and visible light" Do any of you use this for your chameleons setup? I am asking because I have a baby female panther (3months) that I use a seperate heating bulb and tube UVB light for but I am going to get a baby male panther soon and am considering this 100W PowerSun UV lightbulb option since it will come with a package deal with the cham and a 18-18-36 cage. I only want to give my chams what is best for them so any feedback is appreciated :) THANKS

ive never used it.
But personally, i prefer seperate bulbs for basking and UVB.

by having seperate bulbs, it allows the cham to get out of the heat if needed, but still get uvb.
So if your cham moves to the side to cool down, then they no longer get UVB rays.

JMO.

I do not recommend for one simple reason:

UVB must be changed every 6 months even though it will not stop putting out light. If you were to buy the 2-in-1 bulb, you pay more for your bulb (in an effort to save money on two bulbs) but you are FORCED to change that bulb ~6 months anyway, which imho negates any potential money savings on that extra bulb.

I also think camimom's idea of being able to regulate UVB withOUT getting heat is a valid point too.
