lights at night

As long as the room temp stays above 55*F the chameleon will be ok. Temp drops are good for them and are recommended. If the temp gets any lower than 55*F, use a ceramic heat emitter to bring temps up to the safe night time range.

Some people have told me that chameleons cannot see the red basking light when it is on, but from personal experience, my chameleon reacts to the basking lamp whenever it is on, either from seeing the light or from sensing the heat. Either way, I know that the temp is definitely supposed to be cooler at night, and the basking light will throw off the balance of warm days and cool nights. Just turn everything (all lamps) off at night.
