Lights on wood???

OK, so...if i put the edges of my 8.5" heat lamp on wood, will the wood heat up and possibly cath on fire??? Should i just go ahead and put the light on screen instead???? (cut a hole in wood then cover it w/screen)???? Much appreciated!!!!!!!!!

Resting a heat lamp on wood doesn't sound like the best of ideas. They can get pretty warm.

yeah...thats what i thought.....so should i just cut a hole in the wood, then cover the hole w/screen and rest the heat lamp on that???
