not sure due to me only have her around 3 weeks, she could have retained sperm from her last mating, but bob did sucessfully mate here a couple of weeks ago as she was receptive so who knows they may be bobs
shes actually dug that far down shes at the bottom of the bucket and is now digging sidewards as she cant go down any more LOL, bless her
AHHHHHHHH shes come back out, she went to the bottom started digging cross ways and has now come back out and climbed up to the very top of the cage
is this usual behaviour, could she have come out for a break or warmth? she's got bits of the eco earth all over her ??? no body has touched the viv or been near it D:

It could be normal, still give her privacy. She will probably be back down in the hole again.

ok, the majority of the front of the cage has been covered up with a small whole to still allow air flow and a small whole to see in ill leave her be and keep posting on here if anything happens

EDIT again lol :- well i thinks she's have a whale of a time, there couldnt possibly be any more soil in the bottom of the bin as shes kicked it all up onto the top LOL, she keeps coming out the bin every hour or so for 5 mins then back in she goes for more digging, i think she thinks the bin hasnt got an end to it how much shes digging you can hear her feet against the plastic xD well hopefully she'll be done by the end of the day cos i dont really want to leave them in the bin over night :|

well im sick of editing so ill make a new comment lol
well shes come out the bin and gone climbing off up her usual sleeping branch, looking very skinny and no lumps so i took the bin out had a dig about got deeper and deeper still nothing, so im now an inch off the bottom of the tub getting slightly concerne, last dig about still nothing so fill the tub back up with what i took out and pressed it all down made the starter hole as always go back in, shes still on the branch looking plump still and full of bumps she hasnt moved positions but now looks 3 times the size she was when i took the bin out i hope she doesnt hold them now, im thinking she'll sleep on the branch then go back to the bin in the morning (hopefully)

You REALLY need to give her some peace. If she is moved from one cage/bin to the other, sees you watching her, mucking around with her hole, etc. you are likely to end up with an eggbound chameleon. Leave her alone!
Generally they can take a few days to dig the hole to their satisfaction...turn around bum down (usually in the evening)...lay their eggs...fill the hole in and tamp it down and return to the branches. Let her do it!

she hasnt been touched nor has she been moved, i took the bin out the cage when i went through it, and the reason i went through it was because the hole WAS covered back up, there was just a few bits of soil missing as she kicked it over the side of the bin but what was there was all flat mainly
shes not been moved or touched and the bin got re put back into the cage in the same place as it was before

RIGHT well, shes dug today and i think has laid as she has covered the hole back in but shes got what seem to be 4 yellow (infertile) eggs joined together coming out of her and she cant seem to get them to drop or anything, what do i do? she doesnt look overly skinny but she wasnt that fat to begin with, so im not sure if she has actually laid or not
do i try and pull the hanging eggs from her? do i check the lay bin? i think this clutch is infertile to be honest as it was off retained sperm if anything

shes, walking around the cage rubbing her bum on things and then going back to the lay bin and moving around abit then back out and climbing then back in
I would not pull on that string of eggs...it might be attached to her insides. I would take her to a vet. The membrane that is the reproductive system, so to speak is very thin...and I would worry that this might be part of it...the vet should be able to tell you...and since this is not a normal part of the laying process as far as I have ever seen, it wouldn't hurt to get her checked out anyway IMHO.

theyve now dropped and shes now sleeping under the heat bulb, i went through the laying bin to find 7 infertile eggs and there was 5 that dropped from her, she still does look plump tbh, so i think tomorrow she will be back in the bin

Sounds like she's having a hard time, Andy. They don't usually keep going in and out - they usually lay all the clutch in one go and cover them up. I think a vets visit would be worthwile, she may need a shot of oxytocin to encourage her to finish laying. If it's going to work it works pretty quickly, well that's what my vet told me when he gave my Lily some.

im home alone as moms gone away to caravan and not coming back till tuesday

I don't know, but I would think so. I was lucky enough to see the reptile/exotics specialist vet when I took my Lily. You poor thing having to go through this alone.
well i can give them a ring in the morning, how much would it cost?
lily is stomping round the cage now but not showing any signs of going towards the laying bin, shes just trying to sleep i think

With some idea of costs - here is what I just posted in Bradley's thread. I found the invoice from last year when Lily had it done.
Last year at my vets it cost me £6.19 plus vat and a consultation fee. The bill for that visit totalled £21.85. My vet said if it's going to work it works pretty quickly - I seem to remember him saying about an hour or so. Good luck - I hope the visit goes well.
