little piece of shed stuck to his nose

There is a little piece of shed stuck on the tip of my panthers nose. He shed 3 days ago and I was wondering if I should try and get it off? Not sure if I want to stress him out from trying if not needed. I have had crested geckos and was told to remove little pieces of shed that didnt come off because it can damage the skin.....(if around the toes it could kill the toes) Anyways....just wondering if I should be concerned with this.

Thanks

You shuold be able to remove it. Try rubbing it off with fingers first. If you have a calm chameleon small tweezer should work, but be careful, a mad chameleon might try to headbutt you, and get poked/bloody nose instead.

If you are using tweezers, you could probably do an approach parralel to the chameleon's eyes so there is much less of a nose or eye poking risk.

If he is easily stressed I would leave it alone. He will rub it off eventually. My panther just shed his feet and legs and had a piece shed stuck for over a day. It is gone now. They get rid of it on their own.

Well I got it off....he just let me wipe most of it off with my finger....then I took a damp Q-tip and got the last little speck off. I think he liked having his nose rubbed so I took a chance wiped his little crown also. He just sat there with a grin .......seemed happy. I think he is starting to like me!! :D

I hope mine get's there, I just want him to approach me instead of vice versa. You know, be greeted when I get home haha.

I actually have a similar issue. Its random little pieces of skin all over my veiled's skin. I won't try to remove it because he scares easily. Do chams have issues with shedding properly?

I just discussed this with my vet when I took Paisley (veiled) for a ck-up. Paisley had some small bits of skin remaining from his last shed, & normally I don't touch them. The vet told me to remove these bits of skin with a Q-Tip when he's wet, & the skin is soft.
