Live Plant Question

I am about to buy my first chameleon and I have a few questions. My first question is what would be the best plant to put into my veiled chameleons cage? And also where could I get that plant? Another question that I have is, is ordering from Fl Chams and shipping the chameleon overnight a good idea? I am a little uneasy at the thought. Thank you very much and I hope to hear back from some Chameleon lovers.

I use a schefflera tree that I got at home depot for 12 bucks, it doesn't need a lot of light and is very easy to keep healthy and alive.

My cham was overnighted from California and I live in Massachusetts and he got to me fine, crawled right out of the cup and into the tree no prob

see i want to get live plants in mine, but I'm afraid to get mine from lowes because don't they spray all the chemicals and everything on it? would it work if i washed it? if so how do i go about washing them??

repot them in organic soil- wash with mild soap and water. Rinse very well. Cover all the dirt with something like river rocks so the Cham does not/can not eat the dirt!

They do spray chemicals on them you can just wash it off though, most websites selling chameleons tell you if you use live plants to wash them off first.

heres a link listing how to prepare a live plant for a chameleon

thought id just throw in my advice

hey guys i just joined this site cuz im interested in maybe getting 1. but on plants, ive done some reading up, and theres many to choose from. some are toxic, so watch out! anyway, generally anything that thrives in moderate to high temps and is meant for humidity will do just fine. just be sure to allow vertical climbing space, and weekly remove, clean, and put them back in. so go googling to see whats ok, i even know of people who put venus flytraps in their terrarium! hope this helps!
ps make sure to water them with pure water and dont use fertilizer, its loaded with chemicals. and feeder bugs may munch on it
