So, hoping to finally finish this enclosure some time this week. I have corrugated plastic board for the floor and "roof". This way I can remove the bottom to wash it. Under that it will still have mesh so bugs don't get out.The walls are lined with screen door mesh. I'm planning to add more cross supports to keep it stable. I'm also going to anchor it to the wall. Also, I need to add eye hooks or similar to hang vines and such. I left a 1' section on the top to house a drip system, his food, and supplies. It will be closed off on one side. The other side will only be screen mesh so his lights can hang over top.
What I wanted suggestions on is live plants. The enclosure that he will have access to will he 4'x3'x3'. I was thinking of adding a small fish pond at the bottom. Those hard plastic ones you put in your garden. Then I was going to line it with organic soil. I'd like to plant a chameleon safe tree. Then I'd put weed barrier over the soil. I thought I'd put very large rocks over that. Maybe like brick size. That way he can't eat them, or any thing below it. I was hoping that with the tree being in there, the open air flow, and his lights that the water wouldn't be an issue.
Humidity shouldn't be an issue because this enclosure will be in a room that's temperature controlled and his lights will be on, as well as a humidifier. I also bought very long tubing, I can't remember the length off hand; I want to say like 20'. I plan to poke small holes in it and line the top of the enclosure with it so I can build my own misting/drip system.
The wood is treated with a safe water proofing. It won't hurt him and it won't mold. Any tips would be appreciated. I want to make sure he's safe at all times.
