Hi i would like to get some live plants for my veiled chameleon i have done a lot of research on a specific type but i still have q’s which im coming here hence.
1. The specie is pothos
2. I read both of these are somewhat poisonous to dogs/cats and even children how poisonous are they should i be very concerned?
3. When i have this plant in the enclosure and my mister sprays down the tank, how will the excess water be stopped from leaving the screen enclosure?
4. Is it a risk at all my chameleon will eat the soil at all and if so is there a way to lower that?

Thanks

1) devils ivy. Scientific Name: Epipremnum aureum (Scindapsus aureum)
2) considered mildly toxic. Our animal never bothered it. I've had pothos for years with many dogs and a cat
3) it happens. Most stays in. Put something down that can handle getting wet.
4) yes. Re pot with topsoil and coco coir/peat moss. Add large stones on top.

I put river rocks larger than my chams head on top of the soil so my chameleon doesn't mess with it. I also put about an inch of gravel in the bottom of any plant pot that gets a lot of spray from misting.
