He walked right over the hornworm i out on his vine and bypassed the cup of butterworms I THOUGHT I was using to persuade him....LOL

Now the hard part will be getting him back in.....he still does not like me and only came out with me looking from afar....silly boy

Maybe when he needs or wants to warm up he will go back in. I don't think he can get into trouble on there but you just never know the mind of a Cham :). I am like a nervous mom on his first day to school

haha thats awsome! my little one still doesnt fully like me and the only way he does is if i hunt for him and pull him out, then he doesnt wanna go back in his cage. just give him plenty of trust and im sure he will grow fond of you

He's on his way to free range freedom, now it should only take a little more time before he likes you....hopefully, could be wrong about that, but it is good to see them get out of the enclosures and roam a little......he sure is a beautiful little guy.

Try hand feeding and then over time they get used to your hand and will not be as hard to handle him, just have to keep trying. it works but can take some time

Very nice! Mine also is still quite shy, I'm introducing the first cricket by hand every time, but so far it has only resulted in him sprinting for cover as soon as I move away a little bit. Good work, and keep it up! Glad it's paying off for you and can't wait till Picasso starts doing this for me :)

Thanks, I was pretty excited. I stayed out of the room but checked on him every 10 minutes or so. After about an hour he ventured back into his cage so I closed his enclosure back up. I will do it again tomorrow.m He puffed up at me just closing his door. Maybe if I dress up as a female Cham he will show some love.....LOL

Ah good stuff.when I started letting fred out I couldn't get him back in.he's not a handler and I don't want to force it.had to tempt him with a food trail ha :D

Quick question, are you doing half free range and half cage? Like a normal cage setup only with the door always open and a hanging plant? Thats cool! Are your lights still into the cage ?

Yay Cammie!!!! I'm so excited for you! It will be great for him to be able to come and go a bit on his own! Next time try letting him come out before you feed him, then place his feeders inside of his cage. It may entice him to go backbone for food and then some basking!

Good stuff :) I would like to be able to do something similar but Rinty wouldn't stay on it.......he knows where his girl lives and nearly every time I let him roam he heads straight to Jasmine. Jasmine on the other hand only ever goes to climb the curtain - and she has to be moved by hand, which she really doesn't approve of :)

ROTFL Omgsh you'll give the poor boy an Oedipus complex hahaha

Lol Squeekz, that would be a very awkward one :D

Yeah I tried that but he ignored the food :)

Yeah I got the idea from Lisa here. He did really well. Outside the cage is just the plant and vines. I wanted him to still feel the need to go back to his cage.

Thanks Lisa, i was pretty excited! If nothing else he has taught me more patience. The thing is, I hardly ever see him eat in this cage and he ignored worms all day today in his feeder cup which was odd and has me a bit worried but he is pooping fine so he must be eating something.

Thanks, I am hoping do try and do this once a day. I work from home for the most part so it should not be hard to give him a little time out most days.

Nice finally starting to get comfortable. He will be all over your house before you know it
