Looking for tips to feed lobster roaches

Hi Everyone,
I have a bunch of lobster roaches and I am trying to feed them to my cham without much luck of getting them run loose in the cage. Those guys wiggle so much and fall of the tweezers and when they get on the screen they are so still that my cham doesn't notice them.

I also tried a feeding cup with vaseline in it and that seemed to kind of turn of my cham from going after them.

Any good tips of how I can feed the lobster roaches without the possibility of them running and hiding in the plants or other areas?

Thanks for the inputs.

Michael

I snipped the legs off the lobsters so they won't be able to climb. But to make your life easier, get dubia! It's an investment that you'll be happy with :)

Hi Steve, Thanks for the video. Unfortunately the ones I am trying to feed don't have wings yet.

Yeh I am working on setting a Dubia colony, thanks to Jessica. I am also trying to setup a Turkistan roach colony.

I have to see if the roaches keep moving after I squih their head. From what I am seeing the chamelon isn't showing any interest in anything that is not moving.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

to make them walk slower clip all their legs except for two from ones to make them walk more wobbly, it slows them down and makes them more enticing.

I tried like 25 of those, Turkistan roaches, before I ordered some more. I didnt have any issues when I used a small cup for feeding. But for the record these were like 1/2" long and not adults :).

Totally agree! I have a colony of dubias right now and they are so much easier in so many ways. They are so dang slow so its easy to grab them and they just suck at escape attempts, lol. I still have a small colony of the Turkish roaches that servived from over a year ago and just started breeding on their own (I saw no reason to throw out a perfectly good food source. But they are so fast and on the smaller side so it is difficult to use them. I really am happy with my dubia purchase tho. They have already started breeding by their 2nd week with me, and my chams seem to love them (they move around infront of the chams so they are easy to see). I totally recommend them to anyone.:D

Friends dont let friends get lobster roaches. If they wiggle too much then put them in the refrigerator for several minutes that will slow them down.
