ok before i think of buying one yes im currently researching on the care and facts on the panther chameleon. but my important question is since my room has air conditioner what would i do to keep high temperature and humiditiy in the cage of the chameleon. winter is coming i really wont be needing it since the chinchillas i have thrive better in a colder climate. what do you prefer for times i have the air conditioner on

I think there's a few on here that would use ac, I guess it will be trial and error with different watt bulbs to feet the ideal basking temp and temp gradient. For humidity live plants really help along with misting sessions.

I am one who must use the AC during summer months because otherwise even with a 25W bulb my panther gets way too hot! When I have it on I monitor the temps like its my full time job. I find I must up the wattage (only to 40 or 1120 lumens) and mist more or keep mist times/duration the same but also must employ the dripper. This way the humidity isn't snuffed out by the AC. I also keep the cage covered on 2-3 sides with plastic sheet (all seasons), this keeps RH up. Live plants are also going to only help you and this is all I use. Hope this helps :D

You might consider LED spotlights in that situation. That's what I use for my montanes in the summer. Lots of light, very little to no heat emitted to the enclosure.

This was something I worried about as well. I have my AC going most of the day. I just keep a close watch on the temp and humidity. I also close the AC vent in the room he's in.
