Looking to get a Jackson. Living on Oahu.

I was thinking I would keep his cage in the back yard simply because the creatures thrive here. I figured that would be the best for him. The humidity stays between 50-80%, and the temperature is perfect.

I've read that some chameleons dont mind being handled. How much handling is too much?

I think I will go out and try to capture one. Would you suggest getting a young chameleon or perhaps an adult?

With real plants in the cage should I be concerned with the type of fertilizer in the soil?
 
I know they're a non native species but I just can't get behind pulling an animal out of the wild and sticking it in a cage when this species is so readily available for so little.

Not what you're asking, but I'm throwing it out there just the same.
 
Well I believe the chams for sale around the island are all captured and then sold to local pet stores.
