Looking to Purchase Chameleon

Man U guys in the states have it nice lol here's my list from Canada
Cham. 300$ Listed at 399$
Dragon stand cage 300$
Plants over 100$
Mister 220$
Fogger 150$
Vines 75$
Led uvb lights 225$
Basking fixture 30$
Basking bulbs 20$
Temp and humidity gauges 45$for 2 of each
N I'm sure I missing a few things
N here's how I feel we get a pet to care for it so u need to reach the needs of them not what works 4 u and that will cost money your pet shouldn't suffer while u r at work or school or out for a few beers with friends. Here in Canada I would have a tough time without a mister u would have to hand mist every hour or live in 20 %humidity and I'm not saying that it can't b done cheaper cause it can with a lot of time n searching 4 deals. I'd put money on it that a lot of people that come here with health concerns probably don't have the expensive extras we r talking about so in time relays to a problem but anyway good luck n enjoy

I live in a place w super hard water (loaded w minerals). I have bought 4 misters -2 different kinds-a half dozen foggers -2 different kinds and every one of them have stopped working because of all the mineral deposits. Ive cleaned them, bought new fans, new elements, new tubing,,,everything and they still stop working. I cant aford to purchase distilled wster for 5 chams. So I use a spray bottle and a gallon jug w 2 or 3 holes in the bottom. I mist them all first thing in the a.m. then, Im gone about 6 hours so i fill the gal jugs up and let them drip. When i get home i mist again right away and then fill the jugs to half way. This works for everyone except Hannibal. He is a jackson. I just have to keep buying foggers for him He is a mountain cham. Its a must. I also have room humidifiers that i can change filters on for the mineral problem.

I wasn't trying to deter the OP. I just wanted to make sure she was well-informed before taking the leap. And yes if you can find things for sale second hand that can be a huge money saver. But again, if you don't have a solid idea of what you need you could end up buying something that is either junk, wrong, or needs to be upgraded in the near future. Then you have saved nothing. So yea research then buy what you need. Good luck!

RO water filter systems are not that expensive in the US, and not real hard to self install. I saw the more reasonable priced ones at Home Depot for under $200. Someone recently posted a system that is installed for pet use, but I would make sure that it includes the filters and membrane:

It's from this thread, post #2

The instructions suggest that all of the required components are included, and that it can attach to your facet. Therefore, drainage could be directly into the sink. But I don't know enough about the water purity to comment on effectiveness.
