well the pet store told me to put the heat lamp on top of the screen cage, and i did but i also had branches goin up very close to the roof of it so he would sit right under it cause my place is a little chilly and apparently over 4 months that can actually burn the chameleon's back and so after those few months i noticed it and took him in to a very expensive herp vet and he removed the scales which by then were a sort of scab and ever since ive spent 400 bucks taking him to the vet for checkups... apparently it happened so slowly that it was an invisible injury untill it was already too late... so gradual the chameleon didnt even notice but yeah i have to wet his back with an iodine based solution and then spread some gel i have to order from florida that promotes tissue growth.
