Sorry I have a panther 4 months old. He seems to be doing well eating and sunbathing out side weather has bee 85-90 high humidity. So we hang out side a few hours. Ok so as long as it's not below 50. Itsysusly 67-70. At night lamp makes it 85-88 have 50 watt can go up to 60. But thanks for the info. Any more tip would be appreciated. Thank you

Dropping around 65 is healthy for veileds and panthers, unless a chameleon/reptile is sick then night time drops is good for most species. I even allow my leos to drop a bit at night. It's natural and normal. Give him access to complete shade in temps that high (during day time sunbathing) , especially if they are air temps. I always give my chams the ability to go in complete shade on their own. Though my panther often sunbathes all day, during 85+ days he will often blanch and then move into the shade.

As mentioned, night temp drops are good for panthers and veileds.
I would leave the mister off at night. the chameleon will be sleeping and need a full night sleep undisturbed. the mister will most likely wake the chameleon up.

for warm climate like my place,
which is better misting schedule .
mist every 2 hours for 2 minutes, or mist every 1 hour for 1 minute ?
and the last mist is 2 hours before the lights turn off

That would be incorrect! Let your room cool down at night. Think NATURE....when the sun goes down, it cools off. It does not stay the same temperature day and night.

Hello, I was worried too about nighttime.this ceramic emiter is what you should have.it doesn't give any light just warmth.i bought 2 didn't know how long it they last. I won't go with out having a back up "Winter Is Coming "

You guys need to take advice from some of these experienced members. I seriously doubt anyone on this forum has a house that gets cold enough at night that your chameleons will need a night time heat source. You'd have to be blowing the winter air in with a fan while having no heat.

Time. And you never disappoint. Your quick and we never have to wait for your knowledgeable advice. As for the night heat bulb mines seats on the other side of Tyrion's cage , not sure if he can feel the warmth Actually,but I have to say it's for me that I choose to uses this product. I guess it my motherly instincts kicking in. I sleep better at night knowing my little one is comfortable.

I don't let young chameleons drop much under 69. I don't even let my adult veileds and Panthers get down to 50. They would probably survive but I don't want my guys just to survive. I want to give them a good life.

I don't let my guys drop below 65, but that is what my house is set at as well. Unless it's my jackson's then I try to hit around 63 at least, but I hit that by misting them right before lights out and often have an ice pack above them if they can't drop enough. I don't dance with cold temps. But I also realize that chameleons especially Montane species sleep better with cooler temps.
But I don't test below the temps mentioned above. There's no reason to. As long as they sleep well they will be fine.

@Monta I appreciate that, I just enjoy talking chams since I don't know anyone in person that does. There are some members here that know a great deal more than me, but they don't always post as often(some do, no disrespect, for example Jan and andee here are very experienced)
Anyway the point of my post wasn't to try and get your chams down that low(unless you have montanes), but that worrying about it is completely unnecessary. There is enough things to be paranoid about with chameleons, this shouldnt be one of them. If you want a heat source to keep your chams at 60-65 At night, be my guest. But the vast majority of houses don't drop below that and chameleons have shown to be just fine in the 50s. I'm sure their natural habitats get that low and lower on the occasion. I try to be the voice of reason here because as much as some people help, they can sometimes cause people to worry about things that don't matter all that much. As a newbie I heard all kinds of stuff and it left my head spinning!

I agree, unless your heating is broken and you are in the dead of winter don't worry too much about it. You won't be able to handle the amount of cold a chameleon can. Just make sure they have a good place to heat up in the morning of course. Very very important if you do a night time drop around 60 degrees.

As a newbie myself I do get a kick out of some questions we ask. But if we don't ask we're never know about these beautiful creatures and this website will not exist in my opinion.

I have probably asked some of the most stupid questions here, I can't judge lol. My only issue is with the people that ask for advice, but already know what they're going to do in their minds. Wastes everyone's time and you just know their chams will suffer at some point.
