Lucy is digging a big hole in her bucket

she has been fat and restless for 3 weeks,she hasnt been with a male

she has been digging for 2 hours,but now climbed to the top of her enclosure and doesnt seem to have laid eggs yet,I have a towel over the enclosure for privacy,will she be ok?

she was born in June

They may dig 'test holes' for several days before being satisfied and digging for real to lay. With Lily's last clutch he dug for about 3 days before finally getting it right for her! Be patient, and yes, it is good to cover the cage. Do not disturb her whilst she's digging, but you can offer her food and water when she is back up in the branches. Although she may not want food (or have room in her belly) she will still drink. Good luck!

Yeah, Lily looked huge although I didn't realise how big she was at the time. She laid 103 & 104 in her two clutches, bless her. After she has laid perhaps you should cut back on how much you are feeding her. I know from experience how hard it is to get your head around not feeding them so much, but, ultimately the large clutches have an effect on their health and lifespans.

Amy is currently eating 2 extra large locusts a day with maybe the odd silkie or waxie, and she is still gaining weight nicely. She is 9 months old now and I hope that she will lay a small clutch if she lays at all.

she is pacing around now,I have put a second laying bucket in so she has the choice,cage is covered,do I still mist the cage and risk disturbing her?

If it was me I would mist unless she is actually digging. Just keep to your routine as best you can, but don't disturb whiles she's digging. She will need a good warm misting after and some calcium dusted food after she's done!

When she's digging don't let her see you looking or it can cause her to abandon the hole and become egg bound.

What happens when her heat and iv lamp lamp goes off at 6pm,she is still digging??

took a tiny peak,she is right at the bottom of the bucket and is still and was black butnow dark green

The only time I ever saw Lily dark green (gravid colouring) was when she was laying. I think it also has something to do with the fact that it is colder at the bottom of the hole.

SHE HAD LAID THEM!!!

She has covered them over so dont know how many and I am helping her to drink and eat,will be going to work at10am,so I will update you all around 3pm

Glad that she made it through that! It's a good sign that she's eating and drinking. Feed her a little extra the next fews days and dust heavy with calcium the next few days.

Thats great news that she is O.K.....i remember the first time that Trixxi laid for me i was a nervous wreak...and yes it was Tiff that helped me though it also!!Glad that you though it 2!lol

Nervous wreck number three here! Lily had me pacing the floor with her second clutch - I found that worse than the first one! Glad she laid them all without any problems, Jackie. I am just pleased to be able to offer help and advice here I can. I love chameleons - everyone else's as well as my own!

she is doing well today and she looks fab,I havent seen her eat but she has been drinking and she looks very pleased with herself

im so proud of her! its such a shame when they lay eggs that dont do anything...but w/e now she will have practice for the future when she does lay fertile ones. once they lay there first clutch its much easyer for them to lay the 2nd time
