Lucy laid her eggs!!

My little girl finally laid her infertile clutch last night after 3 days, and two ruined plants worth, of digging!

She ended up with 63 eggs as the final count and she went from 124 grams down to 83 grams! She's been drinking as much as I'll give her and is eating again.

I'm going to to get some vermiculite to incubate them just in case she was in with a male before I got her from the pet store, but I doubt that any will hatch.

I'm going to cut back her food after a few days if munching to boost her calcium back up, but I'm just so proud of my girl!

Congrats - gravid Females are always delicate so good job!

Yes, she's a veiled and my first chameleon. Now that I've read more about her on this site and Kitty the Chameleons blog, I'm going lower temps and cut feeding back. I'm just glad she did so well with my novice mistakes

Thank you all! And, I also miscounted; 69 eggs total when I moved them to the vermiculite! And Lucy is doing awesome! It's incredible the stamina and strength these girls have!

wow! what a beautiful chameleon! I just remember when blue went through her first clutch and how nerve racking it was for me. so happy to hear your girl had a successful clutch!

Thank you! I didn't sleep much the past few days worrying about her. I've been so lucky with her; she was a Pet Smart impulse buy, on sale for $25 since she had been there for months.

Despite being naive to chain stores chameleon husbandry issues, I somehow lucked out and she hasn't had any health issues, no signs of MBD and she is the sweetest, prettiest lady.

This is me, exactly. Except, I've had Ophelia since 12/1 and she doesn't show any interest in laying yet. So stressful, ugh. But she has been so great with everything else... she will do this part fine, too.

She will do great too. I got Lucy on 11/28/16, so your lady is right behind her! I've been stressing for a while because she was getting so big, but once she started digging up plants it was 3 days almost to the hour!

First time in weeks she can sleep without her belly hitting the branches!!
