Chameleon Info:
◦Your Chameleon - Veiled, female, 2 years and 8 months old, she has been in my care since she was 3 months old.
◦Handling - Not very often at all. Only when I have to. (but when I do she seems pretty friendly and only a little scared)
◦Feeding - Mainly crickets, mealworms, hornworms, blueberries, and strawberries. Around 6-8 crickets every morning. Sometimes I skip the crickets and feed berries and a hornworm/mealworms. My crickets are on "Flucker's High Calcium Cricket Diet" and "Flucker's Cricket Quencher" for water.
◦Supplements - I dust her crickets with "Zoo Med Repti Calcium Without D3" every other day and "Zoo Med Reptivite with D3 Reptile Vitamin" once a week.
◦Watering - I try to keep her little dripper running for a good portion of the day and she has a mist king set up that mists her cage thoroughly every 2 hours. I never see her drinking which is why I try to give her some hydrating foods like hornworms or berries as often as I can. She always seems dehydrated though. Some days she looks worse than others. Any tips on how to get her to drink would be appreciated.
◦Fecal Description - Her feces seem normal, besides an orange piece in the urate from dehydration. She has not been tested for parasites.
◦History - I took her for a vet check up about 6 months ago and they said she was pretty healthy besides being a little dehydrated. I was supposed to bring in a fecal sample to get tested but I was very busy at the time and could never get one fresh enough, and then I ended up moving an hour away from her vet.
Cage Info:
◦Cage Type - Completely screen with a drainage system in the bottom. Dimensions are 48"H x 24"W x 24"D. I will attach a picture of her enclosure.
◦Lighting - Her UVB bulb is a "Zoo Med Repti Sun 10.0 UVB" and her heat bulb is a 75-watt "Zoo Med Repti Basking Reptile Spot Lamp"
◦Temperature - Her basking spot is around 80 degrees and her cage floor is around 68 degrees. Her lowest temp overnight is probably around 67 degrees. I measure her temps with a temperature gun.
◦Humidity - I always make sure her cage is moist and her cage gets misted every two hours throughout the day. I could probably track her humidity levels better. I had a hygrometer but it was never accurate(always read in the 30's) so I took it out.
◦Plants - I have one Schefflera plant at the bottom of her cage.
◦Placement - It is by a window in the dining area next to the living room. People don't usually go over there but she can probably see us in the living room from where she is.
◦Location - United States, Wisconsin
Current Problem - The main problem I am worried about is her eye. I noticed a small lump on her eye about a week after she laid her last batch of eggs. I thought maybe it would go away if I waited but it seems like it's getting worse. From what I can see it doesn't seem to bother her. I don't see her rubbing it or anything but she is kind of shy so maybe she doesn't do it in front of me. I'm also worried about her not getting enough water. I have her dripper going most of the time but I never see her drinking from it. Also, she hates it when her mister goes off. She runs and hides from the sprayer. I will attach a picture of her eye.
