Lumps on skin

Hey everyone, I have a 21 month old male nosy Mitsio panther chameleon. He started getting these small bumps on his tail. They don’t seem to bother him but I’m curious if anyone has seen anything like these. He is in a 24x18x36 enclosure, t5 UVB tube bulb, full spectrum UV lights fit the plants, a heat bulb and gets misted every two hours during the day for 12 seconds. I feed him crickets, dubias, silkworms occasionally, hornworms occasionally and calcium worms. I know his cage is a little small, I’m working on an expansion screen enclosure for the top to make it about18” taller. Also, it is glass, we live in Colorado where it is super dry so I need to keep his humidity up. Pictures are attached of him and his enclosure.

Hi there... He is stunning. So with those bumps I would get him into a good reptile vet. Get them possibly biopsied to make sure it is nothing that needs to be taken care of.

Where in Colorado do you live? Do you have a good vet there if not we might be able to recommend one.

I do not know if any good vets around here. I’m in Fountain which is basically south Colorado Springs. Also, I added the addition to his cage. It’s kind of janky looking because I just slapped it together yesterday. I’ll add some pics. The left cage is the original height

@jannb do you know any vets in south Colorado Springs Colorado area?

I would highly recommend Dr. Dayna at Aurora Animal hospital. She is totally awesome with chameleons.

Thank you. I knew Dayna was in Colorado but could not remember where. :)

I hope that I am wrong, but my panther started like that. He has skin cancer. We had a biopsy and it was confirmed. They did a scan and, for now thankfully, it's just his skin. It hasn't moved into his organs. He has had 2 operations to remove the bumps, but they came back. The specialist we were referred to wanted to try an aggressive drug protocol that has worked on mammals, but the research done on chameleons was limited to three chameleons and two had serious reactions to the drugs. Our vet won't operate again because three operations is just too much for the little guy to endure and it hasn't helped. We are taking good care of him, showing him tons of love, and watching for signs that he's deteriorating. It's heartbreaking because he is the sweetest Cham in the world. I sincerely hope with all my heart that you get a better diagnosis than we did. Best of luck.
