Sooooooo mad needed a cage and the one I wanted was out of stock online. He couldn’t wait any longer so I turned a shelving unit into a cage. Not the best looking cage but it’s going to work. Lots of rearranging going on. I need to go into my garage on get more sticks to put in the cage

Yeah the wire shelf was only $45, I’m sure eventually I could make this look nicer but for now it will do. Need to improve on the “door”

Thanks. I bought a 24x48 cage yesterday and couldn’t sleep because I wasn’t happy with the it. So I stayed up googling and found this thread

Then this morning I was reading @jamest0o0 thread and made me think about exploring the idea more. After talking it over with @snitz427 I figured out a game plan.

Oh yours is way nicer then mean. Yeah he got out a few times already. He used the side to climb up and then walked on this t5 cord that is connected to imeldas cage. I put a “screen” up for now up it needs improvement not easy to get in and out with the clips holding the screen shut

Also that so sexy ambanja you had. Is that Donnie??

Yeah he kept climbing down the pole and going over to the closet with our hoodies and coats lol. Never bothered changing it because I was usually there and moved not long after setting that up.

So I’ve had so ideas on how to make this look more like a cage. I know this isn’t the best looking cage but honesty I’m really happy with it. Doing to have to go to Home Depot again to but the stuff I need to make the “cage” work lol

I think you're off to a great start. I took two flower pots for mine(couldn't find one that fit my shelf dimensions cleanly) and cut the sides off each so they fit together. You could add some kind of decorative trim around the sides/top if you wanted and maybe a curtain over the bottom where drainage is?


Just some ideas!

Ok y’all I’m ready to share part of the idea I have. After thinking this over it might work, I was going to take egg crates for aquariums to build a wall around 3 sides. The door will be some type of mess like what @GoodKarma19 did to her cage and similar to what @MissSkittles posted

Depending how lazy I am I might put the window screen around the egg crates to make sure bugs can’t get out but we all know I’ll will still find a way

Ok it’s been awhile since I worked on the cage but here is some work I got done recently. Now I need to attach the aluminum screen on the out side and then a layer of plastic to keep the moisture in. Still have lots of work to be done and I’m winging it as I go
