hello.i read that people mix different commercial gut loads.i have cricket crack and bug burger.i want to mix 50/50, i guess? should i just add a little more water to the bugburger mix and add the cricket crack and mix?anyone mix these two and have suggestions? thanx

I just mix dry bug burger, dinofuel, and superload over some veggies and the crickets devour most of it. I have read from other's experiences here that crickets seem to like bug burger more w/o being cooked

This guy.

Dry bug burger dry. So your not making a wet load, your making a dry load with other dry stocks. Then if you want you can sprinkle it on veggies like dyno fuel. I know i can get my picky eaters to eat certain veggies if i poor the dry over them. Guess they just dont want to eat around it :p

For some reason, people think you need to mix these products together. However, you do not have to mix BB w/ Cricket Crack or DinoFuel. Cricket Crack and DinoFuel are 100% organic and have tons of valuable ingredients, with out the mold inhibitors or preservatives. Mixing it kind of defeats the purpose. The only things you need to mix cricket crack or DinoFuel with is veggies, nuts, and seeds. Realistically, that isn't even critical because bugs will eat both products as they are. It is just good to offer your bugs a mix of a dry gutload and veggies, nuts, and seeds for a well diverse diet.

There is no need to do that, and would be a total waste of your $$.

Bug Burger was developed over several years of research to have everything
in it that your cham needs and in the correct amounts and balance.

By mixing another enhanced product, you are 'undoing' what Repashy has done and this could even effect your cham's health.

Yes DF is good stuff. Sandra even raves dinofuel and cricket crack! Kammers recommends repashy becuase they get it wholesale.

Thanks volcano! BTW, your sambava is still here and ready! Possibly, I can bring him with me to the next frag swap up north.

Either way psychobunny is right. Years of development have gone into BB, DF, and Cricket Crack. I have consulted fellow botanists and nutritionist to help with the development of our product and we pride ourselves over it. That is why we chose not to use needless mold inhibitors or preservatives.

Be cautious about using Bug Burger dry. It is meant to form a gell with liquid, and you dont really want that happening inside the cricket or inside the chameleon, do you?

If you're going to use Bug Burger and Cricket Crack and/or Dino Fuel, just alternate weeks rather than mix together.

Very well said Sandra! You are one of my most favorite chameleon forum members! :)

bugburger uses locust bean gum and guar gum along with potato to make the gel section. Its not bad like using crushed bone or rawhide the can turn nasty if re-hydrated in the gut. Bugburger is not a jello packet with some stuff mixed in.

truely, not the same things. What I was meaning to indicate is that I dont see a bonus to filling/swelling a cricket or cham belly with useless gell stuff, like potatoe starch or guar gum. Better that they eat vegetables and such that provide nutrition and hydration. Im Not saying there is anything wrong with using Bug Burger as a gutload choice. There are worse things, for sure!

Exactly Sandra! I couldn't have said better myself. This info. coming from you speaks volumes! People need to study each ingredient and do more research. Just because there are a bunch of chemical compounds you cannot pronounce doesn't make it a great product.
