Male in season?

I have a 2 1/2 year-old male ambilobe cham. For the last 2 1/2 weeks he has been a bright solid red color and all he wants to do is try and get out of the cage. He has not eaten in 2 1/2 weeks. He's very active constantly in his cage.
He stays his red color and doesn't go to his normal color at all. I know with iguanas males they go into their male season etc. Is this common for a panther?
He has never done this before. I'm thinking he wants out of his cage to go find a female. But I'm getting concerned that he's not eating because he is always been a good eater

What do you offer for feeders? Has he still poo'd? Is he still drinking?

He mostly eat super worms. He absolutely loves wax worms and would eat them all the time if I would let him. He is even turning his nose up to wax worms. He doesn't care for crickets much once every couple weeks he'll eat some crickets. Turning his nose up to that. Turning his nose up to silkworms and hornworms. All of those he readily eats. He usually eats readily from forceps and out of table. All he is interested in is getting out of the cage when I open it.
He had a fecal movement about four days ago. Yes he is drinking.
Do they go through a so-called rut season like iguanas do

Feeding too many supers can be bad. Their shell is hard for them to digest and sometimes can cause impaction.

I've never had a male abandon food unless he actually could see the female (I've had their cages next to each other and sometimes they see each other). By any chance can he see any other reptiles?
