The colors say male to me on this one especially the red bands in the tail but it's only 2.5 - 3 months old:

This one has the thicker tail base, but the colors are deceiving:

Thank you to one and all for weighing in on these two. The 1st one was easy to peg as a male, but the 2nd kind of threw me just due to the coloration. Thanks again to everyone who replied.
