Welcome to the forums. The males have a little bump on the heels of their back feet called a tarsal spur. You can see a picture of it in the care sheet linked below. Since your guy is young the bumps will be smaller. https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/caresheets/veiled/
I have another question for you if you don't mind. I will admit I got him at Petco as spur of the moment decision. I have had reptiles in the past so am familiar with them. The guy who sold him to me seemed to be very knowledgable so I took his advise on how to take care of a veiled cham. Well after doing more research I have found out that he did not have the knowledge I thought. I bought one of those kits with tank, moss, lighting, branches, etccc well come to find out the lighting was wrong. It came with the mini domed lights that are red and blue. Are you families with those. My cham was green actually when I bovid him but now he has been a darker green/brown. I recently changed light to UVB and basking light hoping this would help some but he still seems stressed.
I would recommend getting everything changed for him ASAP. Chameleons are not like other reptiles. The care sheet I linked you above is a good one. Most petstore employees don't have chameleon knowledge. Below is my blog for how I keep young veileds. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blo...-keepers-young-veiled-panther-chameleons.html
