You do not need the entire tail :) just where it connects to the body and this looks great. You do have a male, how ever I think the age is off. Looks to be more in the 3-4 month range IMO

I know my Cham is small. The breeder is reputable (Chameleons Galore)
They sell Chams at about 3 months, I waited a bit longer to pick mine up after I bought it so he should have been 3 1/2-4 months when I picked him up Feb 1. I sent pictures to the breeder who says he probably hasnt hit his growth spirt yet. He has only shed 2 times since I got him 2 1/2 months ago.

Unless they ended up giving me one from another clutch, which would mean a different sire then I paid for he should be 6 months now.
He has brand new bulbs, and I dust with calcium 5 days a week and multi vit once every week and a half or so.
He refuses to eat anything but crickets and small silk worms. until a month ago he would throw up the silk worms before he had them all the way down. I also gut load my crickets, and keep them in a clean 5 gal.
Here is a picture from Feb 6th. Do you think he looks about 3-4 months here

All chameleons are different but the picture with him on your hand looks to be 3-4 months just based of length. Some will grow slower than others. I would check out Olimpia's Blog because one she is awesome and two she has a post about raising two male panthers together and seeing how different they grow up. http://muchadoaboutchameleons.blogspot.com/2012/07/two-panthers-growing-up-photo.html

My question for you, how many crickets is he normally eating during the day. The more he eats, the faster he will grow so make sure you are not limiting the amount of food he can have. Also, on the silkworms, they were too large if he couldn't get them down. This could be another issue why he isn't growing because his feeders might be too big and he doesn't enjoy eating things that are that large.

I do not limit food, crickets are about 1-2 weeks old. He comes down to eat approx 2 ever 30-45min all day.
Silk worms are hard to get around here. They come into the stores on Wednesdays for most stores here. They come in one size and are sold within 24 hours. and even feeding them mulberrys they still die in a day or 2

Your crickets sound fine but he should be eating a ton.

As for Silkworms, I would check out Coastal Silkworms and see if they ship to you or maybe at least the bagged food as they should survive on that for weeks.
