He's about 4-6 weeks I got him for free from a breader this will be my first chameleon any advice? I hear they are pretty high maintenance been doing a lot of research and watching videos as much as I can but I take it he's doing good if he's eating and drinking

I'm second guessing if its male now, looking at the base of the tail, looks pretty thin. Can you post another pic from the side?

He's an Ambilobe. I would get some more plants in there to fill out the top of the cage. I recommend reading the care sheets on panthers. What kind and size lights do you have?
I bought a chameleon kit at petsmart for $120 and it came with cage, lights, some fake plants, calcium powder and I got the fogger for free so not sure what lights they are and I'm not home at the moment but I'll post pic when I can

I'll second @Chameleon Mike's suggestion on reading the care sheet. You'll need more then what that kit came with and cfl uvb bulb it comes with should be replaced for a linear uvb bulb. The cfl can cause eye problems and limits the space in the cage that receives uv exposure. Since it is so young I would create a false bottom to shift what you have in there already up reducing the space to make it easier for him/ her to find the food for now.

I was looking into that Cham kit when I was first considering getting a Cham but changed my mind becasue everyone said the UVB needs to be a t5. This kit comes with a dome version UVB bulb and people say this is bad and if you do use it it must be a 10 or more. I was also afraid of them growing out of the medium cage quickly and having to buy another one.

The UVB is the right kind but I would go with a 10.0 once you get some more plants on there. The 5.0 will not get adequate UVB throughout the cage or through a lot of foliage. All you need for basking is a standard light bulb. Enough to bring the temp up to help the chameleon digest its food.
