Just got this guy and stoked to have him. Reptile shop told me he was roughly 9 months old. What do you guys think of him?

I had a younger female and the shop swapped her out for this awesome guy due to the fact i was told it was a male, but i was thinking up upgrading my lightbulbs from a 25 watt basking and 5.0 UVB. What do you guys recommend?

Which bulbs you use will depend on your individual needs. I use 60w bulbs for basking spots and 10.0 UVB bulbs, but that may not work for you. Many people use the 5.0 UVB bulbs with great success. The power of the basking bulb will depend on your temps, 60w may give you temps that are too high.

As for his age, it is hard to say. He has developed a pretty good hemipenile(sp?) bulge but his coloring is still fairly subtle. He could be a young male anywhere from 6-7 months, or he could just have more subtle coloring and be 9 months. He could also be ready to shed and therefore looks like he has subtle colors.

I would just go off what the pet store told you and assume he is approx. 9 months old.
