My male nosy be Beast wont breed. Ive tried everything. Ive shown him multiple females, ive put him in the females cage, I've put the females in his cage, I've put both in a plant out side, and i get nothing. not even a head bob. he is getting close to 2 years old, so he is definitely old enough. im starting to think he is just one of those males that just wont breed. its driving me crazy because he has crazy genes and i would like to breed him.

Don't give up hope.
I had an ambanja several years ago, which was non-responsive to females. And I tried everything like you mentioned. Then one day I took him outside on a summer day and put a female in his cage. Then he started mating with the female and became a regular breeder.
More recently I had another male who wanted nothing to do with females. He would never flare up in the presence of males or even females.
So one day, at about 1.5 years, he mated for the first time and now he is an eager breeder.

So keep your fingers crossed.

You might want to get him checked out by your vet. Has he had any health issues past or present? Any prolapse issues in his past? Just thinking outside the box, not trying to say he has anything wrong.

he is fine and he hasnt had any health problems in the past. i think he just has really high standards and none of my girls are hot enough for him. :)

I had a wc mitsio that wouldnt breed. He never did breed for me. I had him for over 2yrs and he would just look at his female I got him. He mounted her once but never would breed. I did everything you did and more and he just wasnt interested. I even tried putting a male on a nearby tree to get the whole macho thing going and it still didnt work. I feel your pain!

Lance is right, you have to be patient with males like that. You cant talk him into it so just keep trying to change things up. I have one Tamatave male that didnt like mating in his cage. I put him in a tree and that did the trick, he turned into a breeder.

Good luck!

i really hope that you find one thats his type!!!! hes gorgeous and id love to see some babies from him!!! ;)

Definitely try showing him another male. I had one who wouldnt breed his lady friend until i showed him a jacksons male. I have no idea why, but he bred the second after he saw the jacksons. Maybe it was the horns?

Yesterday was Valentines Day,,,, has there been any love in the air for Beast?

I'd love to see something spark his interest!

i tried showing him another male and nothing happened. i showed him my male tamatave that head bobs at everything and it just freaked him out.

My Mortimer was slow to start as well.To this day he wont breed in front of me.When I put Medusa with him. I cover his cage With black webbing and walk away I can see threw it just enough. And it gives him the privacy he needs.Dont give in. Like snoop says pimp'en aint easy;)

Try that, maybe some lacey drape and some privacy, maybe he's just shy! Maybe letting him watch another pair mate, is that an option?

I'm really pulling for you,,, I mean him!!!!!
