Male panther won't flick tongue

i have a male panther nearly 2 years old. I have hand raised him & he is handeled almost daily. His enclosure is custom built screened 2x2x4. He has a yuca tree with climbing branches. Two lights on top. He stopped flicking 1&1/2 months ago. I have been feeding him baby food mixed with his supplements. I changed his lights. He still has not flicked but I see him use his tongue somewhat while eating & drinking. How long will it take for him to have control of his tongue again?

It could be a bunch of reasons, most likely an injury and it will take time to heal, especially an orifice like the mouth that is in constant use. I also saw a lady on YouTube claim her chams super swollen tongue was from a lack of calcium, but I was suspicious of that excuse. Has he seen a vet yet?

I agree, it could be as simple a fix as hydrating the chameleon well! But it could also be due to a injury or even a vitamin or mineral deficiency, with a vitamin A deficiency being the most common culprit!

I've seen people blame Vitamin A deficiency for tongue issues. Can you site a reference for that? Thanks.
