Hi all,

My male Yemens who is 5 months old has the best Arboreal, the correct lighting/heating, good foliage and plenty of vines BUT he does go very dark a lot of the time, when i open the door to mist or feed he more or less launches himself at me to come out and have a wonder around me, i wouldnt say he is stressed but can anyone shed any light on why he goes this colour alot of the time, dont get me wrong he also goes the most stunning of colours aswell.

My guy does the same. It takes them quite awhile ti get used to u and especially misting! U can try hot misting water. May be a little more comfortable. Also if he's cold he'll darken up to absorb more light/heat.

I will try the warm water and see how he goes.

Hi, im new to chameleons and this website. I have a 4 month old male veiled, he's a dark browny/grey colour alot of the time in his viv, sometimes a light grey colour with light blue bands... but ive never seen him a bright green whilst in his viv during the day. He LOVES being out, he greets me, coming down from his perch when i walk into the room , he paws at the glass and is out on my hand and up my arm before i know it, then he turns a lovely bright green with little turqoise spots :D. I just wish he was as happy as that in his viv so i dont worry about him. I have him out a few times a day until he starts to feel cold, and sometimes when i try to put him back in his viv he clings to my hand! i dont even think this is normal behaviour for veilds...is it?!
