Massive Freerange

I am thinking about taking a room in my house and turning the whole thing into a free range. We are talking about 60' by 38'. Does anyone think this would be possible? Also I wand to have my Veileds in there along with maybe a panther. What do you think?!

Cool idea!

I think a few on here have free range Cham rooms! I think Jannb just lives in her house as a guest to her lot :D:D

With a view to mixing them I'm not sure if them being able to see each other might stress them out. Can u advise jann?

U'd have to make sure they couldn't get to each other and fight!

Will let those that have this setup advise ;)

I think the main issue would be fighting, while they would have massive room to run around by themselves there is always the chance of them seeing each other/running into each other. It may be worth making some room dividers out of some wood and mesh or some sort of way to separate them and keep them from seeing each other. Sounds cool though hope you take pictures

Without dividers (natural or plywood) the chams will be stressed if there is less than 20ft between each cham's line of site. Normally they each have their own tree.

Forrest I can list at least 10 reasons right off the top of my head that your idea won't work.

Just a couple quickies

You can't control the water, food and humidity in a room that size.

Your chams will find each other, count of a gravid female veiled in no time flat.

There are a lot of things in that room that are a hazard to your chams. I have a bedroom all for 1 cham, i do know what I am saying here.

Biggest reason, you are very new to chams and would not know if you had a problem until it was too late, stress, dehydration, fighting are all things that can kill a cham or chams.

sorry, I am not trying to be mean. Also Jann does her free ranges in a very controlled way. Each cham has a small tree and it is set up so the cham can not leave the tree. That is doing it safely, but the chams have less room than the chams I keep in cages. It is all a toss up.

The idea of a free range does sound cool. But if you are trying to pamper your chams just do what I did and buy the LLLReptile 29"x29"x72" cage they will have more room than they will know what to do with :)

Ok that is understandable. Another thought is I have a greenhouse. The humidity and heat both are controlled. If I put my veiled pair in there what are the thoughts on that? I'm not saying I'm going to jump right into it. I wanted some thoughts. More like I wanted to understand how free-range worked and it was at all possible. I guess the pros know best and should have left good enough alone.
