never herd no one mention ants i was wandering not fire ants but the black ones are they eatable for my cham? there easy to raise kids do all the time.

They are edible, but most lizards won't eat many of them in one go - 1 or 2 every once in a while.
No, not really. You have to have a queen, and they are tricky to find.
It really isn't worth having a bunch around- your chameleon will probably not go for them with any regularity.

Ants are not good feeders - they contain formic acid, which makes them not really palatable!
