would anyone be interested in trading some feeders for a mealworm colony. I have mostly bettles that has already layed, There is about 100 bettles and will produce many meal worms. I had them for my geckos I no longer have and dont want to throw them out so would trade for hormworms, dubias, ect.

Yes that is why im trying to get rid of them, I dont feed them to mine, I have had them for my geckos i no longer have.

Mealworms are okay as a once or twice a month snack. Just give the worms to some friends or to a store and Kill the beetles.

I know mealworms get very negative press on here, but they ARE OKAY to feed to chameleons - just not in huge quantity. When gutloaded, they make an entirely acceptable choice as part of a varied diet. You could offer them as much as weekly, without issue. Mealworms actually make a good compliment to a diet that contains a lot of silkworms, hornworms or other very soft larvas without alot of chinton. Indeed the mealworm beetles are accepted by some chameleons as well.

My chameleons are healthy and long-lived and they certainly eat mealworms from time to time.

If you dont find a new home for your mealworms, consider feeding them to wild birds.
