mealworm puppas

Hey guys so I have a question...
I have a box of mealworms in my fridge, I stopped giving them after a surgery bc of the chitin parts and bc I've read here that they are also not really good.
I was wondering that if I start to feed them and get them to a puppa stage, can I give them to my cham? That way they'd have food inside and there would be no such hard layer on them...
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

That pupae IS hard.... that's what a pupae is.... a hard casing that protects the insect as it performs metamorphosis. It would still be just as hard, maybe even harder. When a mealworm hatches it will be a Darkling Beetle, which have hard shells as well. All around it's just a mostly bad insect with mostly hard exoskeleton which is hard on the digestive system. Most people prefer not to give them to chameleons because of that, but some people still feed them - BUT MODERATION IS KEY. Only feed mealworms to him once in a while, maybe a couple a week or every other week to prevent problems in the cham.

And when it's like just turned to this white thing? When it's still soft somewhat? I just wanna know if I should just throw them away or if there's a way to feed them
