Mean 8 month old chameleon

My mean veiled Chameleon is about to be 8 months old. I bought him when he was less than a month old, only the size of my pinky finger. I was scared to take him out a lot when he was so small that he ended up becoming very territorial. He is good with hand feeding and will occasionally venture out of his cage when I leave his door open but he HATES physical human contact. I don’t know what to do because he will try to bite me if I even put my hand close to him. Please help! It might be too late, this may just be his personality but if there are any tips on maybe hopefully making him a little used to me again please let me know!

Go slow...try letting a worm crawl up your arm...he might eventually climb on your arm. Try just laying your arm in his cage underneath him with the door open. Don't move he might use you for an escape route. Or not. Some chams just don't want to be friendly.

Teenager phase. They all get that way around a year old. It's like hitting puberty. Hormones and mood swings.
