Meet Baja

My apartment mates and I decided about a month and a half ago to get a chameleon. We spent a couple weeks preparing and setting up the cage. We ordered a male nosy be panther from the Chameleon Company. The sire is Kneecap.

The weeks prior to his arrival we couldn't decide on a name. The options were... Squirtle (pokemon reference), gizmo (just sounded cool), mc (yes just mc, derived from mcgillicuddys), and bud.... Oddly enough, we ended up naming him Baja (pronounced Baha) -- a name we never thought of until we all had an impulsive thought at the same time. We were in the taco bell drive through and they have a soda that you can't get from anywhere else, it's called Baja Blast. Baja blast is our favorite soda and it's the same color as our cham. So, it might be strange, but we named our cham after a soda... typical american's and our fast food

Well, here he is. He seems to have moved in alright but he still won't let us touch him
He is 5 months old

Good looking dude I wouldn´t expect to much cuddle time with him. They arn´t like dogs. They are more like looking at, sometimes not even that. My baby wont let me see her.

I stopped trying to touch him after a few days. I figured I should just wait till he's ready so that way I don't keep putting stress on him. I heard that they could never be tamed if you continue to try and try to force them to be held. Hopefully he will be tamed soon! All the people that come to apartment love him! The ladies love it

I really enjoyed your story on how you came up with the name!
My friend (who lives with 3 roommates) decided to get a chameleon and now they all take care of him, which I think is really great.

I do most of the work for him because nobody else really knows what to do, except for one. I typically feed Baja everyday but when I'm not home I ask my friend Mark to feed him. The other day Baja was opening his mouth and flailing his head around when Mark was feeding him. So I think Baja has become accustomed to me feeding him
