Meet Bela Lugosi

[Chameleons Northwest]

Well, we actually introduced him back in April, but he didn't get a name until today. We named him Bela Lugosi for 2 reasons: his eyes remind me of Dracula's eyes in the early film (with that sort of glowing edge to them), and also- he loves to bite! . He is from CainsChams.

And here are photos from today (he is extremely camera shy and when I tried to adjust his position for a better photo- guess what?- he bit me!):

Hopefully they'll get their mom's good temperament. I thought of naming him Count Dracula, but it seemed too severe and would probably scare off potential customers

We have some chams that have done that. But this guy is so paranoid he burrows deep into his plant.

I DO see the resemblance! Those eyes! (I watched those superbowl commercials online and thought they were some of the funniest ever made.)

Great name! I still love that first picture.

I think one of the things that makes that first picture are his teeth showing against the dark background of his mouth. Usually when you think about male panther chams, you don't think "teeth". But he does.
