Hello hoggle!

If you look at top of each sub forum, it says start new thread, or new thread. Click on that and there you go.

Kath.

He is beautiful! btw can u help me? I don't know how to start a thread.

click on the green forums tab(next to yellow home tab) upper left, then pick a category which suits your thread, general disucussion, health clinic, etc. Click on that and you will see a tab for "new thread" towards the top. Click on that and you can open a new thread.

He is a male oustelet. About 10 months old. Taking to vet tomorrow, he'll see the zoo Atlanta vet on the 8th of feb.

Good luck at the vet, Penny. He's a good looking guy, hopefully he'll feel a lot better with some fluids.

My hands are scratched up really bad from the ride home. He had a death grip on my hand and would not let me hand him to anyone. My hands are really messed up :( I washed with anti bacterial soap but still worry about infection from his nails. He broke the skin 2x, I was bleeding. I'm getting gloves tomorrow. He is just massive, but sweet. He goes tomorrow for fecal testing and treatment of any parasites. I read to start with panacur (sic) then finish with flagyl if needed and retest in another 3 months plus do blood work to rule out any other parasites. Can Dr.O or Ferret confirm this? He can't see the Dr.Rodriquez until the 8th, tomorrow he will see the vet who operates under him. But I still want to have an idea of what's the norm. I read these guys can have a hard time ridding themselves of parasites. Also, he is WC. I did not even think to ask, it slipped my mind. I'm requesting an X-ray too to check for broken bones. He will be getting sub-cutaneous liquids as well as I see from his eyes he has slight dehydration. I won't know anything until I see a urate.

But overall I am determined to give him 100% dedication. He chose me. He was huge when they handed him to me, gaping, hissing, snapping, but then he calmed down and wrapped that big hand around my finger and stared right into my eyes. I knew he was mine. Then I pushed some tween out the way who touched him and said I'll take him. He has what looks like cracks in the crease of his mouth from gaping for 2 days straight. I want him checked out now, he'll go back on the 8th to get a evaluated by the zoo vet though.

Awesome! Glad you got him safe and happy!

Was nice meeting you yesterday! I see he caused more injuries to your arms after you left! Lol.

The mellers is just a gentle giant so he just squeezes with his tail! I'll have to post some pics of my addition tonight!
